Dramatic political developments in New Delhi have entertaining proportions. From Chandigarh in the north to Raipur in the Centre, actors in the Congress are literally copying the Big Boss show.

Patiala King Amrinder Singh, who had quit the Chief Minister office under “humiliation” met the BJP heavyweight and Home Minister, Amit Shah for an hour. Singh couldn’t get an audience with the Congress President, Sonia Gandhi till last week, but could get an easy and speedy appointment as BJP leader.

He was assured entry to Rajya Sabha and agriculture portfolio soon after he joined the BJP. Patiala king tweeted he had talked on farmers’ movement and the Union Minister has agreed to concede demands of the kisans.

Two ministers of the Channi cabinet had quit after the Punjab Congress chief resigned protesting against the appointment of new advocate general and DG of police ignoring his advice.

Veteran lawyer and Gandhi family loyalist Kapil Sibal added fuel to the Punjab fire by alleging there was no qualified leadership to take decisions. Neither CWC nor parliamentary board is taking any decision on important issues and in a direct attack on Gandhi’s, he commented, “I am not ji huzur congressi”. Sibal faced ire of the party workers at his Delhi residence for his anti-Gandhi comments.

Navjot Singh Sidhu on the other hand alleged the party high command was being misled against him. Congress high command remained silent on Punjab developments.

In Chhattisgarh too, Congress high drama is on as for the second time in a month, MLAs loyalists to Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel rushed to Delhi to express their solidarity to CM and register their opposition to health minister T S Singh Deo.

P L Puniya, party general secretary in charge of Chhattisgarh pleaded ignorance about MLAs landing in New Delhi. He said, “I am in Lucknow, no information about the MLAs reaching Delhi.”

The Big Boss show extended to the North East too, as the senior party leader, Sushmita Deo, who headed the Mahila Congress quit the party, joined TMC and immediately became a member of Rajya Sabha. Her father Santosh Mohan Deo was union minister in UPA.
