Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan  on Saturday made a surprise visit to B N College   where a student was killed in a bomb blast two days back.

Governor stayed in the college for 45 minutes, visited hostels, different departments, held meeting with the college principal and students. Khan who had been president of Aligarh Muslim University, condemned bombing in the college and killing if it’s student.

Earlier, while addressing a gathering of media persons at Bihar Industries Association, he regretted sensitivity of vice chancellor of Patna University towards violence on the campus and commented, “University has been handed over to the anti-social elements.”

Visibly furious Governor passed structures on the working of the vice chancellor and said “A similar incident had taken place last year. When I assumed at Raj Bhawan in January, I had called the VC and asked him to submit a report on lawlessness in the University. After the latest bomb incident, I summoned the VC yesterday and inquired whether report sought four months back  has been submitted to Raj Bhawan. VC has the audacity to say-yes, report is ready, but still to be signed by me (VC).”

“Then I told the VC, now meetings will not be held in Raj Bhawan, but in the colleges,” he added. Governor  spontaneously rushed to B N College. He complained ” I feel ashamed, I am in great pain, in tears over working of the universities in Bihar.”

Arif Mohammad Khan claimed Bihar universities are managed worst . Threats are being given to the newly appointed teachers. He claimed he had been Chancellor of 15 universities in Kerala, but never felt lawlessness like universities in Bihar. There was only one issue—appointment in certain ideological basis to which he did not succumb.
