YouTuber Manish Kashyap, who was arrested for spreading alleged fake videos on Bihar migrant workers being attacked in Tamil Nadu, has been booked under the National Security Act (NSA) on Thursday.
The Madurai Crime Branch had registered a case against Kashyap. Last week, Chief Judicial Magistrate of Patna allowed 15 days police remand demanded by Tamil Nadu police that claimed 13 cases were registered against Manish at different places in their state. The Tamil Nadu police took Manish into custody from Beur Chennai and flew him to Chennai on March 29.
The Madurai Superintendent of Police, Shiva Prasad said Manish Kashyap had been detained under the NSA. Kashyap was produced before the Madurai district court on Wednesday that ordered 15 days judicial custody. He was sent to the Madurai central prison.
Cases have been filed against Kashyap and others for spreading fake videos of migrant workers being attacked in Tamil Nadu.
