Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday launched the campaign for the second phase of elections in Chhattisgarh from Surguja and said the state was created by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and it would expedite its growth and development.
Addressing a mammoth election meeting in Surajpur assembly constituency that goes to the polls along with 69 seats in the second phase on November 17, Modi lashed out at the Congress rule in Chhattisgarh and said the Bhupesh Baghel government was indulged in corruption only. “They even did not spare Mahadev,” Modi said while referring to the Mahadev betting scam in which state’s high-profile politicians and bureaucrats are reportedly under investigation agency’s scanner. Today the Mahadev App scam is being discussed in the entire country and the Congress government got the children into betting, he said.
Talking about the increase in human trafficking and drug trade in Surguja area, the Prime Minister said that many girls from the tribal and poor families had been missing. Congress leaders have no answer as to where the daughters have gone. Here illegal infiltrators are being promoted by Congress for votes. It has become difficult to even celebrate festivals here, Modi said. While raising questions on the selection of sons and daughters of politicians and officers in PSC, he said that today it had been discussed everywhere that if one pays, he could get his work done.
“Congress has done the work of deceiving and cheating every section of the society,” Modi said. The population of tribals in India is 9-10 crores, for decades after independence, tribals had no existence for the Congress, Modi underlined in the region where nine constituencies of 14 are reserved for the tribals. The candidates of all the 14 assembly constituencies of Surguja were present on the dais with the Prime Minister.

The Congress tried so hard to stop her and insult her that one cannot imagine. But it is the BJP that has given this honor to the sisters of the tribal community.
When Congress was in power at the Centre, it felt that spending money for tribals would mean putting money into the money pit. But whenever it came to the interests of the tribals, the BJP opened its treasury, the BJP increased the central government’s budget for the tribal society by 5 times.
The Prime Minister said that more than 80 thousand community pattas have been given to tribal families. That’s why every Chhattisgarhi says the same thing, BJP is back. Surguja also says the same thing that this time, BJP government. Whenever the Congress government comes, the courage of terrorists and Naxalites increases in the country. In every state where Congress is present, the rule of crime and plunder prevails. “In the recent past, many BJP workers were snatched away from us,” he added.
