Dr Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner to East and North-East India, paid a courtesy visit to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan here on Tuesday.
Dr. Fleming, who came from Kolkata, extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to Sai on assuming the charge of Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. He had a detailed discussion with the Chief Minister on issues related to strengthening mutual cooperation between Chhattisgarh and the United Kingdom.
Sai told Dr. Fleming about the priorities of the new government for the development of Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister and Dr Fleming also exchanged views on ways to deal with the global challenge of climate change and other issues.
During the discussion, Dr. Fleming took keen interest to know from the Chief Minister about Chhattisgarh’s upcoming new capital Naya Raipur and his hometown Jashpur. The Deputy High Commissioner told the Chief Minister that the meeting was very pleasant at the beginning of the new government formed in Chhattisgarh.
Relations between Chhattisgarh and the United Kingdom will become stronger in the future. The Chief Minister felicitated Dr. Andrew by presenting him a memento of Bastar Art.
