The Additional Director General (ADG) of Border Security Force (BSF) Command Headquarter (Anti Naxal Operations) Rajwinder Singh Bhatti visited the recently established camp at Jantri in Swabhiman Anchal of Malkangiri that is of great strategic important in combating the red army in the area.
He was accompanied by Satish Chandra Budakoti, Inspector General of BSF Odisha Frontier. Bhatti congratulated the troops for occupying the camp at Jantri where the Left-Wing Extremists (LWEs) once had considered sway and was considered as their strong bastion. The development would address the hitches faced by the security forces in maintaining communication and logistics lines. The ADG said the Company Operation Base (COB) at Jantri assumed massive strategic significance as the Maoists of the outlawed outfit were having their influence in Northern Swabhiman Anchal.
During the visit, he had an interaction with the local populace of the Jantri pocket and assured them of support at all times. Bhatti assured that BSF takes it as a privilege to be part of such ventures by giving security support.
Earlier, the ADG visited BSF Sector Headquarter in Koraput on Wednesday. He was briefed on the existing security setup and operational preparedness in the area where BSF has been deployed.
Bhatti interacted with senior officials that included Madan Lal, DIG BSF Koraput, S K Sinha, DIG BSF Malkangiri, Varun Guntapalli, SP Koraput, senior Officers of BSF and Border Men in BSF Sector Headquarter Koraput and praised their efforts in holding red rebels. He applauded the force for its dominance and role of security support for the parties involved in developmental work in the interior pockets of Koraput.
The officers assessed the current Left Wing Extremism framework, incidents and reciprocation by the security forces to the threat. He discussed the deliberate deployment in bordering areas with Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.
