Jagdalpur, June 8
A jawan of Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Antagarh of Narayanpur district on Saturday.
Identified as Malay Karmakar, the jawan was posted in the 162nd Battalion of the BSF that is posted in Antagarh area for anti-Maoist operation. According to police sources, he hanged himself inside the bathroom in Phulpad under Raoghat police station limit.
The jawan reportedly used the shoe lace to end his life. The senior police officials said the reason for taking such an extreme step could not be ascertained. However, the Raoghat police had lodged an offence and were investigating the matter. Further details related to the home town of the jawan were awaited.
