Border Security Force (BSF) Koraput organized an outreach cum awareness programme “Run up to Teachers Day” on Friday to mark the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence in various Schools of Koraput.
The aim of the programme was to reach out to the youth and make them aware about the organisation of Border Security Force, its functioning and life of a Border Man. The programme also aimed, national integration and mainstreaming of the future generation to bring into line as prolific citizens.
On the occasion, BSF showcased weapons including small arms, assault rifles including hand grenades, UBGL (Under Barrel Grenade Launcher), mortars, LMGs (Light Machine Guns), MMGs (Medium Machine Guns), HHMD (Hand-Held Metal Detectors), Thermal Imaging Devices and Night-Vision Equipment at Government College in Laxmipur.
A Canine Show was also organized with an aim to display an event that can make students aware of how committed is BSF for country’s security and how these trained Dogs assist BSF troops in service of nation.
After the event, Madan Lal, DIG BSF Koraput interacted with the youth and emphasized about crucial role of Armed Forces in the security of the Country and the opportunities available for women in BSF, their role and deployment on international Border.
In other events, the BSF organised programmes of drawing competition, sports events and display of documentary videos of force in the district for students in Government Women’s Higher Secondary School Koraput, Government Higher Secondary School Danadabari, Adarsh Vidyalay Boipariguda, Government High School Lamtaput, Government High Ankadeli, Government High School Peturu, Government High School Rajuguda, Biju High School Sunki, Higher Secondary School Bandhugaon and Higher Secondary School Khumbhariput.
