Bijapur, June 1
Pilot testing of BSNL’s 4G services in Bijapur district, once infamous for the deadly Maoist violence, was successfully completed on Friday.
Bijapur Collector Anurag Pandey was present on the occasion. On the occasion of testing 4G services, Collector Bijapur powered-on the 4G signal in the mobile tower located at BSNL Center Bijapur and interacted with the Chief General Manager of BSNL Chhattisgarh, Vijay Kumar Chhablani (ITS) through a test video call. The testing call was successful. The service will be provided formally at the earliest.
According to the information received from BSNL, action is being taken to equip the BSNL towers located in all the districts of Bastar with 4G facilities in a systematic manner. In the series, testing of 4G services was done in Bijapur. Apart from this, work is also in progress on the 4G saturation project.
The project includes those villages of Bastar where mobile service has not been started by any telecom service provider. A total of 1018 such villages have been identified and these villages will be covered with mobile services through 241 new towers. BSNL also demonstrated a special telecom facility through satellite for the district administration of Bijapur today. District office and 6 tehsil level offices will be connected through satellite service.
The General Manager of BSNL Bastar Sharat Chandra Tiwari (ITS), Hemendra Kumar Gahirwar (SA), Set Ram Sahu (Dy.M.A.), Narsingh Chandra (Dy.M.A.), Joint Collector Kailash Verma, SDM Bijapur Jageshwar Kaushal, Deputy Collector Uttam Singh Panchari, Dilip Uike and other district level officers were present on the occasion.
