Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), a Jharkhand-based subsidiary of Coal India Ltd (CIL), joined the Nation in
celebrating the 76th Independence Day.
CMD, CCL P M Prasad hoisted the National Flag on the premises of CCL headquarters in Ranchi and wished everybody on this occasion. Director Technical/Operations Ram Baboo Prasad, Chief Vigilance Office S K Sinha, GMs/HoDs, employees, representatives of trade unions and other stakeholders were present to grace the occasion.
In his address, Prasad said that every Indian should be indebted to the freedom fighters who struggled and
sacrificed their lives to win independence for the nation. He further added that everybody should work collectively to contribute in country’s development. He stated that the entire country is celebrating the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and CCL has also undertaken a plethora of activities under the same. The company has procured 1.5 lakh tri-color and distributed to its employees as well as stakeholders.
CCL has also given Rs 1.20 crore to the Jharkhand government for executive Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
Prasad stated that because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many children lost their parents or the primary earning member of the family. Pursuing their education was a challenge for these children. He stated that the under CCL COVID Relief Scholarship company is providing scholarship of up to Rs 50,000 to 180 such students belonging to the command area of the company.
Launching the scheme, Chief Justice of India himself handed over a cheque to eighteen recipients of this program.
Prasad said informed that CCL has left no stone unturned to strengthen the educational infrastructure and opportunities for the stakeholders. The success of the path-breaking “CCL Ke Lal Laadli “scheme is a testament to the company’s commitment to the same. He further informed that the company under its CSR initiative has signed a MoU with Giridih district administration worth Rs 1.83 Crores for development of 11 government schools in the district.
Under another initiative, the company signed a MoU of Rs 1.63 crore with Koderma district administration for construction of borewell, toilets and boundary wall in ten schools of the district.
Prasad reiterated that the company is committed to the comprehensive development of the stakeholders. He told that the company has provided Heavy Motor Vehicle training to 140 youths of project affected areas. The beneficiaries were further given a driving license post their training. He said that Sulabh International will make seven Sulabh Toilet complexes in the command area of the company. He further informed that CCL organized a 15 days medical camp in Deoghar during the Saavan for the benefit of the devotees.
Prior to it, Dr D K L Chowhan, CMS, CCL hoisted the flag at Central Hospital Gandhinagar. In all operational mining areas and other establishment, tricolor was hoisted to mark completion of 75 years of Independence.
