Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), the Jharkhand-based subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), is undertaking various activities to promote awareness about the cheetah restoration.

Cheetah, the fastest running land animal, is extinct in India. The government of India has started the Cheetah reintroduction program with 8 Cheetah from Nambia being brought to India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be releasing these cheetahs in the Konu national park of Madhya Pradesh.

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and IRO Ranchi, CCL organised such programs in different schools in seven districts of the state from 13th to 16th September. The schools where camps were organized include DAV, Topa; DAV, Urimari; Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Piparwar; DAV, Kuju; S. S. High School, Tandwa, Amrapali Area; U. H. S., Binglat, Chtra; DAV School, Dhori; DAV, Giridih; Masi Martial School, Charhee, Hazaribag; DAV, Kathara Area; Central School, Rajendranagar, Ranchi and DAV, Gandhinagar, Ranchi situated in seven districts – Ranchi, Ramgarh, Hazaribag, Bokaro, Chatra, Giridih and Latehar of Jharkhand.

DDG Forest Santosh Tiwari and IG Forest Shashi Shankar have played a vital role in the success of the program.
