The top brass of the ministry of coal chaired a review meeting held with the linked power consumers of the Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), an arm of state-run Coal India Limited (CCL).
Joint Secretary with the Ministry of Coal Smt. Vismita Tej chaired the meeting along with Director, Ministry of Coal, Mukesh Choudhary on Saturday. The meeting was held at CCL HQ, Ranchi. CMD, CCL P M Prasad along with other General Managers, officials of Marketing and Sales and others were present during the meeting. The different power consumers of the company also attended the meeting.
The major power producers including NTPC, TVNL, DVC, Haryana Power etc. attended the meeting and expressed satisfaction over supplies of coal from CCL. Uninterrupted supply of coal during COVID-19 pandemic and improvement in quality of coal were specifically acknowledged by the coal consumers.
Smt. Vismita Tej advised all plants to build up stock and plan pre-emptively so that any adverse situation arising out of shortage of coal could be dealt with accordingly. She instructed the company officials to ensure that there is no scarcity of coal in the power plants linked with the company.
CMD CCL, P M Prasad, assured all help to consumers for uninterrupted power generation to meet the energy requirements of nation.
Director (Tech), B V Reddy was also on a visit to CCL. He chaired a performance review meeting at CCL Headquarters, Ranchi which was attended by Director (Tech) Designate CCL R B Prasad along with other officials. Reddy also visited Barka-Sayal Area and motivated the workforce and asked them to meet committed production target with safety and explore possibility to highwall mining in blocked coal.
