Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), a subsidiary of state-run Coal India Limited (CIL), had trounced its own record of transporting coal through the tracks.
The company on Friday despatched 80 rakes, the highest ever on a single day, from the various railway sidings of the company. One of the major consumers of CCL is NTPC, India’s largest energy conglomerate aiming to accelerate power development in India. It procures about 30 rakes of coal per day.
It could be achieved with strong commitment and persistent efforts of each and every stakeholder of the CCL. The unprecedented performance is the result of the systematic and strategic planning as well as its perfect execution under the leadership of CCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director PM Prasad and guidance of Directors and CVO, the company said in a statement.
The previous daily best was 77 rakes that were despatched on March 19, 2021. The company has been on a record-breaking spree in Coal dispatch and has improved its tally from a maximum of 64 rakes in a day recorded in February to the current 80 rakes in a day.
Mining activities are carried out in eight districts of Jharkhand that include Ranchi, Ramgarh, Latehar, Palamu, Giridih, Bokaro, Piparwar and Hazaribagh. Amrapali-Chandragupta, Magadh Sanghmitra, Pipwarwar, North Karnpura, Rajhara, Barka-Sayal, Argada, Kuju, Hazaribagh etc are the mining areas from where the raw coal is transported through rail rakes and sent to its consumers in various parts of the country including Gujarat, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu etc.
CMD of CCL P M Prasad congratulated the sales and marketing team, Area General Managers and other stakeholders of the company for the achievement. He attributed it to the hard work of all the employees of the CCL. “The company under the guidance of Hon’ble Coal Minister Shri Prahlad Joshi is committed to fulfil the call of “Atma Nirbhar Bharat,” Prasad said.
He also expressed gratitude to the Jharkhand Government for its support and expressed confidence that the company would continue to perform at the same pace and add another feather to its cap.
CCL is a subsidiary of Coal India Limited and is one of the highest employers and contributor to the state exchequer of Jharkhand. The company is also a pioneer in the field of welfare and has launched various projects for the holistic development of the community and bringing social transformation in the society.
