Ranchi, April 6
Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), the Jharkhand-based subsidiary of Maharatna Coal India Limited, organized a consultation workshop on National Coal Logistic Plan organized at its headquarters Darbhanga House Ranchi on Thursday.
The program was attended by R B Prasad, Director (Op) CCL along with Director (Personnel) H N Mishra, Director Finance P K Mishra and CVO CCL Pankaj Kumar. Also present on the occasion were representatives from Coal Ministry, Coal India and its subsidiaries, railways, state government and private sector.
Hitler Singh, Undersecretary, MoC, Salil Jha, Senior Advisor (Railways), CIL were also present on the occasion. B K Gomasta Director (T/CRD) CMPDI , Shankar Nagachari Director (T/ES) also graced the occasion.
The CCL spokesperson said fruitful discussions were held on coal evacuation and the infrastructure required to augment the logistic facility for enhanced coal evacuation. The consultation us being organized as an initiative of Ministry of Coal to prepare for increase coal supply and evacuation in the upcoming years as the coal production increases in the country.
Welcoming the delegates, Director Tech (Op), CCL R B Prasad stated that the demand for coal will be increasing and it has to be ensured that the dispatch facilities area available for coal to be supplied to the power plants of the country. He further added that in FY23 CCL recorded the highest ever coal production, dispatch and OBR since its inception.
Salil Jha Senior Advisor (Railways), CIL stated that even though the energy consumption has increased in India but its still less than the world average and gradually as the demand escalates proper infrastructure from production to evacuation has to be there to ensure that there is no dearth of coal in the power plants.
A presentation on “Coal Evacuation Network for Country including CIL and Non CIL coal mines and blocks was also made on the occasion and different aspects were discussed.
