Ranchi, December 3
Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), an arm of state-run Coal India Limited (CIL), is celebrating every Wednesday as Production Day so that the production of coal remains on upward trend to meet energy requirement of the Nation.
For last couple of months, CCL has been celebrating every Saturday as dispatch day to ensure uninterrupted supply of coal to the power plants.
CCL is concentrating on several initiatives to preserve the environment and ensure inclusive development of project affected areas as well as its stakeholders. Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society (JSSPS)- a joint initiative of Jharkhand Government and CCL, is one of the major CSR new initiative of CCL. Similarly, CCL Ke Lal and CCL Ki Laadli, scholarship scheme, is another CSR initiative of company. Both the CSR initiative and other welfare activities are yielding results.
CCL is also contributing royalty to the Jharkhand government against dispatch of coal. All the mines, crusher, road sale weighbridges and railways sidings of CCL operate within the confines of the Jharkhand Government.
For the purpose of payment of royalty, the Department of Mines and Geology of Jharkhand Govt. has developed an online portal, popularly known as JIMMS (Jharkhand Integrated Mines & Mineral Management System) portal. Under this portal, registration is required to be made for each mine, crusher, road sale weighbridge and railways siding of CCL.
It is to be noted that the registration is made for a geographical area and not for a production or processing unit. A unique ID is assigned by the JIMMS portal against every registration. Coal cannot be removed outside the geographical area without a unique ID generation, payment of advance royalty and forest transit fee. Such advance payment of royalty and forest transit fee are based on the estimated quantity and quality of coal to be dispatched during a particular month. Every registered lessee or dealer pays advance royalty for movement of coal.
When actual coal dispatch takes place in command areas of CCL, a transit challan is issued through JIMMS portal for each supply- through trucks or rail wagons. All Mining areas of CCL are paying advance royalty to the Jharkhand Government as per norms.
