CCL opens COVID care centre in Ranchi

Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), the Jharkhand based subsidiary of the Coal India Limited, has stepped up its efforts to fight the pandemic by opening a new COVID Centre for asymptomatic patients in Ranchi today.

The move is aimed at to isolate the asymptomatic COVID-19 patients and start their treatment for early recovery. In this 22-bed COVID Care Centre, asymptomatic pandemic cases will undergo treatment as per the guideline of the government.

Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi Chavi Ranjan inaugurated the new COVID Care Centre that had been set up at Gandhinagar Colony in Kanke Road. The Chairman-cum-Managing Director of CCL P M Prasad and other dignitaries that included Director Technical (Operations) V K Srivastava, CCL CMS in-charge Dr. DKL Chowhan, CMO (administration), Gandhinagar Hospital Dr. Ratnesh Jain, Deputy Manager (Personnel) Rakhi Rani Gupta were present on the occasion.

The CCL CMD briefed the Ranchi DC about the treatment given to COVID patients at Gandhinagar Hospital where COVID patients are undergoing treatment. He also informed that in addition to Gandhingar Central Hospital, an additional COVID Centre has been opened for accommodating more patients. He also informed that CCL doctors and paramedical staff are working day in and day out to give treatment to the COVID patients.  

CCL has been committed to serve its stakeholders across the command areas of the company. In addition to Gandhingar Hospital (Ramgarh), Ramgarh Hospital of CCL has been taken by local administration for treatment of COVID patients. Nine vaccination centres of CCL have been running including Gandhinagar Hospital to expedite the vaccination mission.

CCL is carried out mining activities in eight districts of Jharkhand (command areas) including Ranchi. In view of growing cases of COVID patients, CCL has responded promptly to requests of its command area districts and signed sic MoUs with concerned district administration as per their requirements like setting up ICU units, building infrastructures etc.

CCL, the manpower intensive industry, is on high alert to guard its employees and stakeholders, by ramping up the medical infrastructure to combat the second surge of COVID-19.
