CCL’s former GM installs parents’ statue to mark death anniversary

To commemorate the death anniversary of Prof (Dr) Nageshwar Pandey, a former University Professor of Samastipur College, Samastipur (Mithila University, Darbhanga), his statue along with spouse Late Smt Indira Devi were unveiled at Rewari village in Samastipur District of Bihar recently. 

A book titled Dridh SankalpEk Atmakatha authored by Late Pandey was also released on the occasion.

Prof (Dr) Nageshwar Pandey left for his heavenly abode on January 2, 2022, about one year ago and his death anniversary was observed on December 23 as per Hindi Panchang at his birthplace. His son Bimlendu Kumar, former Director (Personnel), NCL and former General Manager (Administration), CCL played a significant role in putting up a statue of his late parents to commemorate the first death anniversary.  

Talking about the parents, Kumar said that his father was a self-made person, a visionary, a true karmayogi, a freedom fighter, an educationist, an environmentalist, a simple and generous person, who propagated importance of education in not only in his family, his surroundings, his village but to anyone who even remotely came in his contact. His late mother too was great academician and principal of M A R Mahila High School, Lalbagh, Darbhanga and known as a torch bearer of women education in undivided Bihar, he added.

Apart from Bimlendu Kumar’s entire family, dignitaries of his village and other nearby villages of Samastipur district namely Prof Dr Ram Narain Rai, former Principal, B R B College; Prof Dr Arvind Choudhary, former Professor R A University, Pusa; Shiv Narain Singh, journalist; Dr Naresh Kumar Vikal, Dr S choudhary, Sri Chunnu Mishra and thousands of dignitaries were present.

Rishi and Rajiv anchored the programme. All the speakers highlighted the contribution of the late couple.
