Central Coalfields crosses annual coal production target in FY24

Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), the Jharkhand-based subsidiary of Coal India Limited(CIL), has once again surpassed the annual coal production target of 84 Million Tonne (MT) and produced 86.1 MT in the financial year 2023-24 (FY24).

Similarly, the company has registered positive growth in coal dispatch and Over Burden Removal in 2023-24. The Company’s dispatch and Over Burden Removal(OBR) also registered double digit growth and rose to 82.8 MT and 121.4 MCuM in FY 2023-24 respectively.

CCL’s dispatch to the power plants also registered positive growth and touched 69.1 MT surpassing the annual target of 67 MT. The capital expenditure of the company was about Rs 3641 Crore surpassing the annual target of Rs 2314 Crores registering a 50% growth.

Inspired by the futuristic vision of Ministry of Coal, Govt. of India, able leadership Shri P.M. Prasad, Chairman, CIL and kind guidance of Dr. B. Veera Reddy, CMD, CCL and pro-active support of Jharkhand Govt and stakeholders particularly villagers and representatives of trade unions,  the company left no stone unturned in fulfilling the energy demands of the nation.

All Functional Directors- Harash Nath Mishra, Pawan Mishra, Harish Duhan and Satish Jha- and CVO CCL Pankaj Kumar congratulated CMD CCL for this remarkable performance. CMD, CCL Dr B. Veera Reddy and the Functional Directors congratulated each and every member of CCL family on this achievements.

Further CMD, CCL assured that  the company is committed to fulfill the energy demands of the Nation through sustainable mining.

To maintain momentum of coal production, CMD CCL, Functional Director’s, General Manager’s, HoD’s from CCL CCL Darbhanga House, Ranchi visited operational mining areas and motivated the workforce to give their best output. Every Tuesday and Friday was observed as production day in the mining areas to maintain upward trend of coal production.

CCL mining areas are spread out in eight districts of Jharkhand i.e., Ranchi, Ramarh, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, Giridih, Chatra, Palamu and Latehar.

CCL is undertaking various initiatives for environmental conservation and preservation. 20 MW Solar Power Plant in Piparwar area and 4 MW plant in Giridih has been set up to generate electricity from on-renewable sources .  Thirty-three  E-vehicles have been deployed in the company in its quest to reduce vehicular pollution. Nine Eco parks are being developed encompassing an area of 127 Hectare for conservation of biodiversity. Plantation of over 6 Lakh saplings in an area of 231 Hq was undertaken by the company in FY 23-24.
