The Centre on Wednesday extended the term of three additional judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court for a year following the recommendation made by the Supreme Court Collegium.
“In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Justices Sachin Singh Rajput, Radhakishan Agrawal and Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal, Additional Judges of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, to be Additional Judges of that High Court for a period of one year w.e.f. 16.05.2025, 02.08.2025, and 01.05.2025, respectively,” a notification issued by the Union Ministry of Law and Justice said.
Last week, the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna-led SC Collegium had recommended the extension of the term of these three additional judges of the Chhattisgarh HC for a year.
The Supreme Court Collegium on Wednesday (March 19) recommended to extend the term of three Additional Judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court for another one year. The Judges whose terms have been proposed to be extended include –1. Justice Sachin Singh Rajput2. Justice Radhakishan Agrawal3. Justice Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal.
The Chhattisgarh High Court presently has a working strength of 16 judges as against a sanctioned strength of 22 judges.
