Chhattisgarh allots free land for NIELIT centre

The Chhattisgarh cabinet on Wednesday approved a proposal to strengthen the technical education of the state and promoting digital skills.

The Vishnu Deo Sai cabinet gave its nod to a proposal to allot 10.023 acres of land free of cost to the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) for the establishment of State of Art Centre in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar was approved.

National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), formerly known as the DOEACC Society, is a society that offers Information Technology and Electronics training at different levels. It is an autonomous scientific society under the administrative control of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.

The establishment of NIELIT Center in the state will bring revolutionary changes in the field of technical education, digital skill development and information technology in Chhattisgarh, state government said in a statement. The center will not only provide quality technical education to the youth, but will also provide them new employment opportunities. With this, Chhattisgarh will emerge as an important center in the map of technical education at the national level.
