Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday stressed for saving the tribals by eradicating the Maoists insurgency in the country.
Shah visited Bastar today to accompany the party candidates in Jagdalpur and Kondagaon for filing nomination papers to contest the ensuing assembly elections. This was his second visit to the state after the poll panel on October 9 announced the dates for the state polls. On October 16, Shah visited Rajnandgaon and accompanied former Chief Minister Raman Singh in filing nomination papers.
The BJP has fielded Singh to contest from Rajnandgaon assembly constituency in Chhattisgarh that goes to the polls in two phases on November 7 and 17.
Addressing a meeting in Jagdalpur, Shah said once BJP came to power in the state, the Maoists insurgency would be uprooted. “Even if Maoists, police or civilians die in the Maoists violence, the society loses a tribal,” Shah said, adding that the Maoists menace had to be eradicated to save the tribal population.
The Union Home Minister remembered martyrs Veer Narayan Singh, Veer Gundadhur, Praveen Bhanjdev. He asserted that he was elated to meet the people belonging to the tribal society.
People of Chhattisgarh will celebrate Diwali thrice, he said, adding that one when the festival of lights comes, one on 3rd December when lotus will bloom in Chhattisgarh and one in January when the work of Ram Lala temple in Ayodhya will be completed. Shah asked Bhupesh Baghel how much money did the Central Congress government gave to the tribals in 10 years of its rule? “Only 29,000 crore while Modi ji spent Rs 1 lakh 32 thousand crore for the people of tribal community,” Shah said.
“Modi ji gave Rs 75,000 crore from the District Mineral Fund for the development of the districts. Modi ji started this mission to ensure that not a single tribal brother or sister suffers from sickle cell by 2047. Modi ji gave a gift of Rs 27,000 crore to Bastar in his last visit,” Shah said.
Castigating the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Shah said the youth belonging to Scheduled Caste and Tribe community had to take out a rally naked. Shah said the Congress government did not keep its promise of providing 4 cooking gas cylinders free, waiving off property tax, regularization of teachers etc.
