The Chhattisgarh government Friday announced a 5 per cent hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA) of state government employees.
Now the DA has been raised to 33 per cent. The hike would come into effect from October, a state government communication said. However, it could not be known how much burden the state exchequer would have to bear following the order.
The state government employees were receiving a 28 per cent DA under the 7th Pay Commission and 189 per cent under the 6th Pay Commission since May 2022. Over 450,000 state government in Chhattisgarh would be benefitted by the order.
