Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel interacted with the youths of Surguja division under the ‘Bhent-Mulakat’ programme that he has launched in the state.
The event was organised at the PG College Hockey Stadium of Ambikapur where youth from across the Surguja Division participated. He dedicated various development works, which include the construction of an indoor stadium worth Rs 100 crore to provide various facilities to sports enthusiasts in Ambikapur, akin to Raipur’s indoor stadium, and the construction of a state-level residential college catering to hearing-impaired students, addressing an existing gap where only schooling options were accessible for them.
He also announced to start a government B.Ed. colleges in all the districts of the Surguja division, a Wushu Sports Academy in District Headquarters Surajpur, and the construction of a law college in the Manendragarh Chirmiri Bharatpur district. He interacted with the youth present and shared information about various schemes and opportunities provided by the state government.
Tamanna Singh, a physically challenged student at KR Technical College, interacted with the Chief Minister and appealed for a specialised college for the deaf and mute using lip sync. Responding positively, the Chief Minister assured her to establish a state-level residential institution to support such individuals. Sonu Kumar, from Manendragarh-Bharatpur-Chirmiri, put forth his demand to provide medical aid for visually impaired children in Chennai. The Chief Minister assured thorough examinations and quality treatment for all in need.
Students interacted with the Chief Minister and asked how he manages his time and other activities. The Chief Minister shared about his busy schedule, leaving minimal time for entertainment and other activities. Yet he shared that he spends time with family and friends. He shared that he preferred reading biographies of eminent figures and enjoying music.
The packed hockey stadium greeted the Chief Minister with fervour as enthusiastic youth performed Chhattisgarhi and Sargujiha songs, including the energetic “Haye Dara Lor Gay Hey”. The rhythmic beats resonated with Surguja’s pride and captivated the audience. The presence of the Chhattisgarh Olympic Games’ mascot, Bachharu, further inspired the youth during the vibrant event.
Anuradha Kushwaha from Rani Durgawati College, Wadrafnagar, Balrampur, expressed her aspiration to become a teacher in the future. However, she pointed out that there is no B.Ed. college in the district. In response to this, the Chief Minister assured her that B.Ed. colleges will be established in all the districts of the Surguja division. Expressing gratitude, Meghnath, a student of Government College Balrampur, commended the Chief Minister for inaugurating the district’s college. Meghnath appealed for the expansion of college facilities, requesting new buildings and postgraduate classes for various subjects. In response, the Chief Minister shared that the state government has decided to construct five new rooms and introduce physics and botany courses in the upcoming session. Tinkesh Kumar from Korea proposed a technical talent festival, and the Chief Minister assured him to consider the proposal. Sunita Pando, a student from the Special Backward Tribe, expressed gratitude for the establishment of a new girls’ college in Surajpur.
A significant number of youth, public representatives, and officials present at the event celebrated Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel’s birthday a day before. They brought a cake prepared using millet to praise the initiatives of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel’s Millet Mission in Chhattisgarh. The youth, public representatives, and officials present at the event urged the Chief Minister to cut the cake to celebrate his birthday.
Deputy Chief Minister T S Singh Deo, Culture Minister Amarjit Bhagat, Bastar MP Deepak Baij, State Planning Commission Chairman Prem Sai Singh Tekam, Parliamentary Secretary Chintamani Maharaj, Advisor Rajesh Tiwari, and many public representatives were present.
