Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel paid rich tributes to senior BJP leader and a prominent member of the Adivasi Samaj Sohan Potai who passed away on March 9.
Potai, the former Member of Parliament and Legislative Assembly from Kanker, lost the battle with cancer. He was the founder of Sarva Adivasi Samaj, an organisation working for the cause of tribals and had expanded its footprint among the community within a short span of time.
Baghel reached village Babu Dabena in Kanker district on Sunday and participated in the Dashgatra (tenth day rituals) of Sohan Potai. The Chief Minister offered a floral tribute to his portrait. Baghel met the bereaved family members and expressed his deepest condolences. The Chief Minister consoled the family members.
Recalling his association and the moments spent with Sohan Potai, Baghel said he was a great leader of the tribals and fought for the rights of the tribals throughout his life. The Chief Minister termed the demise of Sohan Potai as an irreparable loss to the society.
