Chhattisgarh: Bijapur teachers bag Governor’s Award

Two teachers from Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh were honored with the prestigious Governor’s Award for their remarkable contributions to the field of education.

The award was presented by Governor Ramen Deka at a special ceremony held at Raj Bhawan in Raipur on September 5 on the occasion of Teachers Day. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Education Minister Gajendra Yadav, Education Secretary Siddharth Komal Pardeshi and other dignitaries were present at the event.

The awardees included Arun Kumar Singh, Lecturer (LB) at Government Hindi Medium High School, Iitpal, and Jagdishwar Toram, Head Teacher of Boys’ Ashram, Edvali.

Arun Singh has been working for the past 20 years to make education more engaging and effective for students. He devotes extra time to weaker students, helping them build confidence and perform better in their studies.

Jagdishwar Toram has been spreading education in tribal areas for the last 35 years. He has turned education into a powerful tool for social change and has played a crucial role in providing quality education to countless underprivileged children. His efforts have positively impacted many lives.

Both teachers’ contributions are considered inspirational, and they have emerged as guiding figures in the field of education.

Officials, teachers and people besides District Education Officer G S Dhaneliya, Block Education Officer Dalend Devangan, and Principal of Sejes Hindi Medium Higher Secondary School, Bijapur, Prabhakar Raj Sharma congratulated both the teachers for the feat.

Expressing gratitude for the honor, Arun Singh thanked his mentors, family, friends, fellow teachers, students, and colleagues who supported his work. He said that the achievement was the result of collective efforts. The award not only reflects his personal contribution but also highlights the deep commitment to education in Bijapur district.
