The Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Dhamtari, Ranjana Dipendra Sahu was injured in a road mishap near Mainpur in Gariyaband district on Friday afternoon.
According to police sources, Ranjana was going to Gariyaband to attend the marriage function of MLA Damrudhar Pujari’s son when the mishap took place near Mainpur. Pujari is BJP MLA from Bindra Nawagarh.
The Innova vehicle in which Rajana was travelling turned turtle before skidding off the road near Jhariyabara. The driver losing control over the steering is reported to be the possible cause behind the accident.
The MLA has immediately rushed to Mainpur Hospital where she is being provided first aid. The doctors attending on her said the preliminary investigation suggested that the MLA had sustained minor injuries. However, thorough medical examination is being conducted to ascertain no internal injury is caused to the BJP.
