Chhattisgarh’s capital city Raipur will have a Smart Reading Room that will accommodate 600 people for studies at a time.
“To make Raipur smart, the education system must also be smart and the proposed Smart Reading Room will help achieve it,” Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said after laying the foundation stone. The reading room will be constructed at the Moti Bagh just behind the Raipur Press Club.
The project will be completed at a cost of Rs 6.5 crore. It will consist of a two-story building designed to accommodate 600 students. The Raipur Smart City Limited will be the executing agency of the project that will provide room for the students and common people to study in the heart of the city.
The entire premises will be equipped with Wi-Fi and Local Area Network (LAN) facility for the effective use of internet services. The structure will be designed in such a way that it will be friendly for the differently-abled students. They will be provided space on the ground floor.
A toilet facility will be available on all the floors.
The Chief Minister said the premises would provide an academic environment for the students and people who could use the reference materials that would be in the stock at the centre.
