Chhattisgarh capital to remain under lockdown with online cuisines on menu

Chhattisgarh’s capital would remain under lockdown till May 6 even as authorities had given relaxation for delivering essential items besides foods from restaurants through online platforms.

The e-commerce companies had been exempted and could deliver the goods, said a fresh notification issued by Raipur District Collector Dr S Bharathi Dasan today. During the shutdown, people could order foods online that delivering and ordering platforms like Swiggy and Zomato would drop at the doorstep. Dining inside the hotels would remain banned.

The extension of the lockdown for the second time in succession was necessitated following a surge in the COVID-19 cases in the state capital. The new order would remain effective till May 6 morning. During the period, essential services such as medical emergency, fire brigade vehicles, exemption for vaccination, exemption for railway passengers would be allowed. The petrol pumps, gas agencies would remain opened.

The Raipur district borders would remain sealed. The mandis would open from 11 pm to 4 am while fruit, vegetable, ration, egg, poultry farm, mutton, fish etc. would be supplied through the street vendors from 6 am to 2 pm.

Government fair price shops would remain opened as per time frame decided by the food controller of Raipur. The banks would be operational from 10 am to 1 pm with relaxation for female staff on certain grounds.

 The lockdown had been extended in many other districts of Chhattisgarh also.
