Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has called upon the people of the state to plant saplings in ‘Hareli Tihar’.

He encouraged the people to share their pictures of planting saplings on social media and raise awareness among the people. Baghel emphasises the importance of increasing greenery by planting saplings at home and challenging others to do the same, requesting them to upload photos of their efforts. To support this initiative and expand greenery throughout the state, the forest department will distribute free saplings to all villages.

PCCF V Srinivasa Rao shared the Chief Minister’s objective to enhance greenery in the state and involve villagers in environmental conservation. The Chief Minister instructed the Forest Department to provide free saplings to villagers interested in planting saplings at their homes. This initiative aims to coincide with the Hareli Tihar along with promoting greenary in the state. The expectation is that people will enthusiastically participate in tree-planting activities and share their photos on social media. This collective effort will create a visually appealing and environmentally friendly atmosphere throughout Chhattisgarh.

Hareli, a festive occasion in Chhattisgarh, coincides with the lush greenery brought by the monsoon season. The Forest Department is swiftly taking action in consonance with the Chief Minister’s vision of ‘Clean and Green Chhattisgarh’. The department has provided the saplings to forest guards across all divisions, enabling them to distribute these saplings free of charge to villagers eager to plant trees in every village.

The Chief Minister has urged all people in the state to plant saplings during the ‘Hareli Tihar’. In a message shared on social media, he emphasised the importance of greenery in Chhattisgarh and encouraged people to post pictures of themselves with the planted saplings using the hashtag #Hariyar_Hareli. He stated, “Hareli Tihar is a festival of greenery, and greenery is the ornament of our beloved Chhattisgarh Mahatari. Green trees are not merely pleasing to the eyes; they are precious gems on our Earth. It is our collective responsibility to beautify our Earth. The blessings we receive from Mother Earth will enrich all our lives.”
