Chhattisgarh Chief Minister urges for royalty revision at Niti Aayog meet

New Delhi, August 7

Chief Minister of mineral-rich Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel has for revision of royalty rate of main minerals including coal.

Attending the 7th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog, Baghel demanded refund of deposits in New Pension Scheme in the interest of employees. He also raised the issue of GST compensation stating that the state was incurring loss of revenue due to the GST tax system.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister requested continuing the GST compensation grant for the next 05 years even after June 2022. Demands for reimbursement of expenditure of Rs 12,000 crore on central security forces deployed for anti-Maoists operations was also raised by Baghel.

The Chief Minister demanded increasing the share of the states in the central tax, saying there was increased pressure on the resources of the states.
