Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday called on President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries in New Delhi.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma accompanied the Chief Minister. They also met Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Sai said they had constructive discussion with the Prime Minister and other ministers about the development of the state. They also received valuable suggestions from them, Sai said, adding that since the double engine government is in place, development works will expedite in Chhattisgarh.
“The development works stalled in the last five years will be completed,” the Chief Minister said. He thanked the Prime Minister for releasing Rs 2485.79 crore as tax devolution and procuring 1.5 million tonne parboiled rice for the central pool. Sai said the amount would be used for the implementation of different programmes and development works in the state.
During the meeting with Prime Minister and Union Ministers, the Chief Minister informed that the Chhattisgarh government has taken a quick decision on ‘Modi’s Guarantee’ and started implementing it. He said that as per the announcement of the Prime Minister, houses for 1.8 lakh families were approved in the first cabinet meeting after the government was formed. Besides, as per the promise made to the farmers of the state, the Chhattisgarh government has decided to purchase 21 quintals of paddy per acre at Rs 3100 from November 1, 2023.
The Chief Minister said that on the occasion of ‘National Good Governance Day’, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on December 25, the state government would distribute the two-year outstanding paddy bonus amounting to Rs 3716 crore 38 lakh to more than 1.3 million farmers of the state. He also informed about the provision of funds for schemes like Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Krishak Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Social Security Pension etc. in the supplementary budget.
