Good Governance festival reaches the remote corners of Chhattisgarh

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today visited the remote and tribal-dominated village of Muler in the Bastar Division.
Situated at the edge of Dantewada district, Muler is one of the last villages along the state’s border. This village is undergoing accelerated inclusive development under the Niyad Nellanar scheme.
Upon his arrival, Sai was warmly welcomed by the villagers with traditional garlands made of mahua flowers and mango leaves, and a ceremonial gaur mukut. Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, and Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam were also greeted with traditional bouquets crafted from chhind leaves.
Keeping up with the tradition of ‘Chaupal’, Chief Minister Sai held an open dialogue session under a tamarind tree, directly engaging with the villagers to listen to their ground-level concerns and discuss development priorities. He inspected the local ration shop and interacted with beneficiaries to assess the regularity, quality, and usage of food supplies. He also ensured on-the-spot weighing of the rations and personally examined a beneficiary’s ration card. At the local Anganbadi, he affectionately interacted with the children, enquiring about their literacy and colour recognition skills. He also distributed chocolates.
The Chief Minister made several important announcements on the occasion, including an allocation of Rs 4 lakh for the construction of Andal Kosam Mata Temple, establishment of a sub-health centre in the village, construction of a connecting road to Nahadi, and the sanction of Rs 5 lakh for the construction of culverts and CC roads to link all hamlets and settlements of the village. He further announced that camps would soon be organised for the issuance of Forest Rights Recognition Certificates, Aadhaar Cards, and Ayushman Cards.
During his visit, Sai also met Miss Ramshila Nag, a student from Dantewada who secured 9th rank in the state’s Class 10 board examination. He felicitated her with a bouquet and sweets and extended his best wishes for her bright future.
This visit by Chief Minister to village Muler not only reflected the sensitivity of good governance but also reaffirmed the State Government’s firm commitment to reaching the last person in the remotest part of Chhattisgarh.
Village Muler in Dantewada District: Holistic Development Through Effective Implementation of Government Schemes
It is noteworthy that the remote Gram Panchayat of Muler in Dantewada district is writing a new chapter of development. Despite limited resources, the effective implementation of various government schemes has laid a strong foundation for empowerment, self-reliance, and service delivery in the village.
Falling under the Bacheli assembly constituency, Muler is located approximately 90 kilometres from the district headquarters. The village is home to 112 families comprising 474 residents, all of whom belong to the Madia tribal community. Two Anganbadi centres operate in the hamlets of Balkepada and Patelpara. Six women’s self-help groups are active in the village, with the Lakshmi Group having received a tractor under DMF (District Mineral Foundation) funds. The tractor is used both for farming and rental purposes. BPL (Below Poverty Line) families are receiving regular supplies of ration. The village has a solar-powered home lighting system.
Under Mahtari Vandan Yojana, women in Muler are receiving financial aid, fostering a sense of economic support and self-respect. The Muler Gram Panchayat stands as an exemplary model of grassroots-level implementation of government schemes in remote tribal areas. With active community participation and responsive administration, steady and meaningful steps are being taken towards sustainable development.
