Raigarh, February 5
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Wednesday held a roadshow for Chaiwala Mayoral candidate in Raigarh Jivardhan Chauhan and other ward candidates to ensure BJP’s victory in the Municipal Corporation.
Sai appealed to the public to vote in favour of the BJP. The Chief Minister reached Raigarh at around 2 pm, where his roadshow started from Sattiguri Chowk.
BJP’s Mayor candidate Jivardhan Chauhan, State Finance Minister O P Choudhary and District BJP President Arundhar Diwan accompanied him in the open vehicle during the roadshow. This roadshow reached Ramniwas Talkies Chowk via Gaddi Chowk, Subhash Chowk, where BJP workers welcomed him with fanfare.
The roadshow then reached Mini Mata Chowk via Shaheed Chowk, where he was weighed with bananas. He also made tea by stopping at Mayor candidate Jivardhan Chauhan’s tea shop. While talking to journalists, he said that BJP’s victory is certain in the entire state. The benefits of his government’s tenure will be seen in the urban body elections and the third engine government is being formed in the urban body elections, he added.
Sai said from today, the campaign programme for the urban body elections has started in the state from Korba. “Raigarh is our old area, the people here blessed me and made me an MP for 20 years,” Sai said. Whenever he comes here, he gets emotional, he added.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Jeevardhan Chauhan as its official candidate for Mayor. Jeevardhan still runs his livelihood by selling tea. “Today we sipped his tea, which was very sweet. Jeevardhan Chauhan’s tongue is even sweeter than that. Apart from the mayor election in Raigarh, BJP will win in the wards because Congress has lost the trust of the people,” the Chief Minister said.
Lashing out at Congress for allegedly cheating the people, Sai said they came to power with 36 promises in the 2018 assembly elections with a huge mandate. But they only cheated the people in five years. That is why they had to face defeat in the 2023 assembly elections.
In the Lok Sabha elections too, the people of Chhattisgarh voted for BJP to bag 10 out of 11 seats and now the same is going to happen with the Congress in the urban body elections, Sai said. In 13 months, the BJP government has fulfilled the guarantee of Prime Minister Modi and has worked to win the trust of the people of the entire state.
The Chief Minister said that the BJP fights the elections on development issues. It stands with the people throughout the year in their sorrows and pain”. Our Prime Minister’s slogan is also Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Prayas, all-round development has taken place in just 13 months,” he said.
