Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with great pomp at the official residence of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday.
For the first time, Chief Minister of the state celebrated Janmashtami with differently abled children at his residence. In the evening, the Chief Minister’s residence was alive with the performance of 25 children from three handicapped institutions of Raipur, dressed as Radha and Krishna.
Sai worshipped Lord Krishna along with these children and prayed for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the state. He worshipped the handicapped child Rudra, seated in the cradle as Bal Gopal, and also swung him. He congratulated and wished the people of the state on Krishna Janmashtami.
After the puja, the Chief Minister himself distributed prasad to all the children. He took the children in his lap, caressed them, talked and enquired about their studies. Children from Raipur’s Government School for the Visually and Hearing Impaired, Mathpuraina and Mana’s Asthmadhit Balgrih and Multi-Disabled Balgrih participated in the Krishna Janmashtami program organized at the Chief Minister’s residence.
Sai made the auspicious day special for these children by sharing it with them. On this occasion, he said that celebrating the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna with these children and worshipping him is a matter of great pleasure and pride for him. Like other children of the state, these children are also an integral part of the society. They are always committed to their better upbringing, education and making them self-reliant.
