Chhattisgarh CM disburses seventh installment of Mahtari Vandan Yojana

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has given a big gift to 7 million women of the state on the occasion of Teeja today.

On the occasion of Teeja-Pora Mahtari Vandan Tihar organized at the Chief Minister’s residence today, he transferred Rs 1,000 each to the accounts of women through DBT. It will be the seventh installment of Mahtari Vandan Yojana launched by the BJP government after coming to power in December 2023. Mahtari Vandan Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 10, 2024.

Prime Minister released the amount of the first installment by pressing the button. Under the scheme, in the first phase, more than 70 lakh women have been selected as beneficiaries, in whose bank accounts 7 installments of the scheme have been transferred.

The scheme was launched to strengthen the economic self-reliance of women in the state and improve their health and nutrition level. It also aimed for their decisive role in the family, to remove discrimination, inequality and lack of awareness towards women in the society and empowerment.

Under the scheme, financial assistance of Rs 1000 per month is provided to married, widowed, abandoned and divorced women of the state who are above 21 years of age.
