Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai the success achieved by the security forces in an anti-Maoists operation in Gariaband district on Tuesday was commendable.
“I salute the jawans for the success,” Sai said in an X post. The double engine government will certainly eradicate the Maoists menace from Chhattisgarh by March 2026, he added.
In a joint operation conducted by the Chhattisgarh Police, Odisha Police and CRPF, 14 Maoists including dreaded Central Committee member Jairam alias Chalpati were killed in Kulhadighat area of Gariaband district. The pocket where the encounter took place is located on the Odisha border.
Besides Chalpati, who was carrying a reward of Rs 1 crore on his head, other senior leaders of the banner Maoist organization were also killed. Reports said the toll of Maoist casualties had increased to 20.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister said the security forces were fast moving ahead and achieving success to fulfil the commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to free the country from the Left Wing Extremism by March 2026.
