Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai unfurled the national tricolour in Jagdalpur, the divisional headquarters of Bastar and took the salute from the impressive parada at Lalbangh ground.

Extending the hearty greetings of the 75th Republic Day to the people of the state, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that unwavering devotion towards Shri Ram is our identity. We believe in ‘Raghukul Reet Sada Chali Aayi, Praan Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye’.

The philosophy of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, the pioneer of Integral Humanism, is embedded in our consciousness, which keeps us aware of inclusiveness and humanity. Following their path, we are determined to fulfill the dreams of every person of Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai was addressing the people of the state after hoisting the national flag at Bastar district headquarters Jagdalpur today on the auspicious occasion of 75th Republic Day. Chief Minister Shri Sai extended warm greetings of Republic Day to the people of the state, amid the grand celebration of Republic Day ceremony held at Lalbagh Ground in Jagdalpur. Chief Minister took the salute of the parade after hoisting the national flag at the ceremony.

In his address to the programme, Chief Minister said that on this day, a golden link is being added in the Amrit Kaal of India in the form of 75th Republic Day. This auspicious occasion is the celebration of the success of the great Constitution of our country. On this occasion, I salute all the great leaders and personalities who have glorified the name of the country with their excellent work in various fields.

At first, Chief Minister paid respects to the great gems of Chhattisgarh, Amar Shaheed Gaind Singh, Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, Veer Gundadhoor, who connected our state with the national movement and gave the message of sacrifice, justice and equality throughout Chhattisgarh. These were the heroes who raised the consciousness of people and led the tribal movement for nation’s independence. Later, following this path, many heroes and patriots of the state played an important role in the freedom struggle and contributed to the development of the state and the country. I respectfully salute all such personalities, said Chief Minister.

“We the people of India made our Constitution, implemented the Constitution and surrendered to this Constitution. The foundation stone of India’s bright future was laid on 26 January 1950, with the enactment of our Constitution. Our Constitution is the best Constitution in the world, which was made while considering the experiences of the past, the needs of the present and the challenges of the future, said Shri Sai.

Chief Minister said that the journey of 75 years shows that we have established ourselves as a successful democratic republic. Today I solemnly remember Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and all the members of the Constituent Assembly, who showed the path to our republic by drafting the Constitution with their collective wisdom. Our Constitution provides all the citizens with the right to socio-economic and political justice, freedom of thought, expression, belief, religion and worship, equality of status and opportunity.
Chief Minister said that due to the policies, schemes, programs and campaigns of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country has achieved great success in various fields in the last decade or so. Today, every citizen is feeling proud that the entire world is recognizing India’s iron power. India is now leading the world in many fields. The glory of our Republic has given new wings to the development of the country and the state.

He said that our national leadership and former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee had accelerated the development of the region by giving it the status of separate state to Chhattisgarh. Thus, the development journey of Chhattisgarh commened from 1 November 2000. What is of utmost importance in a republic is respect for the wishes and aspirations of the general public, respect for the dignity of every individual, identification of the needs of every citizen and conduct of government policies, plans and programs accordingly.

18 lakh beneficiaries will get permanent houses

I feel happy and proud that the way Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has served the country in the last 9 years, his popularity, justice and leadership abilities are being appreciated not only in India but also across the world. He has attracted the attention of the whole world with his vision for world welfare along with public welfare. We have given top priority to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s guarantee of providing permanent housing to the homeless families of the state. In the first cabinet meeting of our government, we have approved Pradhan Mantri Awas to more than 18 lakh families of the state. In this way, we will also contribute to achieving the goal of providing a roof over the head of every homeless person in the state.

Tap water will reach every home

Chief Minister said that besides Pradhan Mantri Awas, we had promised to provide safe drinking water supply to every household in Chhattisgarh under Jal Jeevan Mission. We have made arrangements for additional funds to achieve the set target as soon as possible.

12 lakh farmers received paddy bonus worth Rs 3,716 crore

On the occasion of ‘Good Governance Day’, the birthday of former Prime Minister Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the father of the state of Chhattisgarh, payment of the outstanding bonus of 2 years against paddy procurement was promised. We fulfilled this promise on the due date and transferred a lump sum amount of Rs 3,716 crore to the bank accounts of more than 12 lakh farmers.

Procurement of 21 quintals of paddy per acre

Under ‘Krishak Unnati Yojana’, we have issued orders to procure 21 quintals of paddy per acre. To improve the system, paddy is being procured through biometric authentication in online paddy procurement centers. Arrangement has been made to release payment within 48 hours, which has been successful to a great extent.

Free electricity for irrigation: Provision of Rs 1,123 crore

Chief Minister said that Krishak Jeevan Jyoti Yojana was the contribution of our previous government that brought prosperity in the lives of farmers. Irrigation facilities and production capacity expanded due to the supply of free electricity. As soon as the government was formed, we reviewed this scheme and found that this system of providing free electricity to the farmers has proved to be very effective. To make the scheme further more effective, an additional amount of Rs 1,123 crore has been approved.

Government stands in solidarity with farmers
 
Addressing the farmers, Shri Sai said that we are aware of the challenges faced by farmers today. He assured the farmers that the government will continuously work for development of agriculture and related areas and redress their problems as priority. More and more schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samridhi Kendra Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Organic Farming Mission, National Horticulture Mission and National Agricultural Development Scheme, National Mission on Edible Oil, Rashtriya Gokul Mission, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Irrigation Yojana etc. are being implemented effectively and arrangements are being made to provide benefits to the farmers of the state.

An amount of Rs 12,000 to be provided under Mahtari Vandan Yojana

Chief Minister said that we will take every possible measure to protect the dignity, self-respect, and independence of mothers, sisters and daughters. Effective schemes for their health, education and nutrition will also be implemented. We have taken an initiative towards fulfilling the promise of providing annual financial assistance of Rs 12 thousand under Mahtari Vandan Yojana.

PSC and other competitive exams will be held with transparency

Addressing the youth, Chief Minister said that we are aware of the concerns of the students and youth. This is the reason why efforts are being made to streamline the process of all the major examinations of Chhattisgarh PSC on the lines of UPSC. We have decided to get the PSC case investigated by CBI. Our government has started testing at multiple levels to ensure transparency and quality of all major examinations. We will take holistic initiatives on all the subjects like education, personality development, values, health, employment etc. for the secure future of the children and youth.

Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra proving effective in providing benefits of the schemes to the government

About Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, Chief Minister said that Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is being conducted with the aim of providing benefits of various schemes to the deprived and underprivileged people of the state, as per their eligibility. This yatra is reaching all the 11 thousand 654 gram panchayats and 170 urban bodies of the state. Through this campaign, Government of India is reaching out to the eligible beneficiaries of all the public welfare schemes and creating awareness about the benefits they can avail. This campaign is contributing towards the socio-economic empowerment of the weaker sections of the society.

PM-Janman Yojana for the upliftment of the particularly backward tribes

Shri Sai spoke about the public welfare initiative of the Prime Minister, which has become a medium for empowerment of every citizen. Pradhan Mantri Adivasi NYAY Maha Abhiyan (PM-Janman) is being implemented with the aim to ensure upliftment of the most backward communities of the society. Under PM-JANMAN, nine ministries are working towards the development of vulnerable tribal groups such as Baiga, Kamaar, Pahari Korwa, Birhor and Abujhmadiya in Chhattisgarh and resolving their grievances. Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh Government is committed to effectively implement various schemes for the development of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and minority communities. Every possible effort will be made to strengthen their means of livelihood and to provide better infrastructure in their residential areas.

Regarding cleanliness, Chief Minister said that he thanks the people of Chhattisgarh for their cooperation, which earned the state the title of the third cleanest state in the country. He expressed hope that the dedication and awareness of people would continue to grow on all the parameters of cleanliness.

Poor families to receive free rice for five years

To deal with the impact of COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure that every family gets their right to food and nutrition, Central Government has started Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, under which arrangements have been made to provide free rice to poor families till December 2028. In Chhattisgarh, under this scheme, 67 lakh 94 thousand Antyodaya, Priority, single destitute and disabled ration card holders will be provided rice as per the monthly entitlement.

Transparency in PDS through One Nation One Ration Card

Providing information about the reforms related to the PDS system, Chief Minister said that to make the public distribution system efficient, transparent and convenient, ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ scheme has been started. Under this scheme, the beneficiaries can get the same amount of food grains from any ration shop of their choice.

Ujjwala LPG Connections to 36 lakh women

So far, more than 36 lakh new LPG connections have been issued in the state under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. A special campaign is being conducted under the banner of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, eligible beneficiaries are being identified and they are being provided the LPG connection. This scheme has brought ease and convenience to the lives of women.

Ramlala Darshan Scheme for pilgrimage to Ayodhya

Our Chhattisgarh is a state of religion, spirituality and culture. Every region here has some special characteristics and mutual respect is the legacy of the state. Our government will follow the path of harmonious development while respecting the beliefs of all castes, religions and communities.

Chief Minister said that our government has decided to commence Ramlala Darshan Scheme, under which thousands of people will get the opportunity to go on pilgrimage to Ayodhya Dham, Kashi Vishwanath Dham, and Prayagraj.

Good Governance

Chhattisgarh has all the necessary elements like cultural heritage, natural resources, opportunities for tourism development, traditional knowledge and skills, hardworking and intelligent people, will to adapt to new possibilities, along with the courage to face new challenges. There is a need to move in the right direction through good governance. Our Government is determined to put an end to Naxalism and various types of crimes, violence and injustice. All the areas and all the sections of society should get adequate opportunities for development, as per their constitutional rights. Every possible step should be taken to catalyze good governance, security and development so as to pace up the socio-economic development of people in the state.

Chief Minister said that our government is ready to fulfill every promise. I am confident that with your love, cooperation and support, we will fulfill every dream of Chhattisgarh Mahtari and the people of Chhattisgarh, said Chief Minister.
