Raipur, January 17
The death toll due to COVID and co-morbidity in Chhattisgarh today surged to double digit as 10 deaths were reported in the state on Monday.
Of the deaths, one was reported due to COVID while nine due to co-morbidity, the Chhattisgarh health department communication said. Two deaths each have been reported from Bilaspur and Durg districts while one each from Raipur, Dhamtari, Balodabazar, Janjgir-Champa, Mungeli and Koriya.
On Monday, 4574 fresh cases of COVID were reported across the state. The state capital continued to remain in top with 1208 cases reported today followed by Durg where 751 people were tested positive for COVID on Monday.
However, the number of patients discharged today surpasses the figure of fresh cases; a relief for the warriors waging a war against the pandemic. In all, 5217 patients—both from home isolation and hospital—were discharged today after they were tested negative for the novel virus.
