The district administration has lodged FIR against Jainam Construction for not following the prescribed standards in the construction work of 12 smart Anganwadi centers in Narayanpur.
The Dantewada-based firm had been awarded contract for the construction of 12 smart Anganwadi centers under BSP CSR scheme in Narayanpur district. The company has also been charged of misusing the government funds.
According to officials, Jainam Construction was sanctioned a total of Rs 1 crore 80 lakh at the rate of Rs 15 lakh for each center for the construction of smart Anganwadi centers. An amount of Rs 1 crore 39 lakh was provided in advance to the firm concerned for the project.
However, on receiving complaints regarding the quality of work, an inquiry committee was constituted as per the instructions of Collector Narayanpur Pratishtha Mamgain. The investigation report submitted by the committee confirmed serious irregularities in the construction work and misuse of government funds.
Jainam Construction did not follow the prescribed standards in the construction work and misused government funds. On the basis of the report, FIR has been registered against Jainam Construction, the officials said.
Collector Pratishtha Mamgain said the negligence and corruption in government schemes would not be tolerated under any circumstances and stringent action would be taken against the culprits.
It is worth noting that administrative approval of Rs 1 crore 80 lakh was received for the construction of Smart Anganwadi. Tender was invited in which Jainam Construction qualified and appointed as the implementing agency for quoting the lowest rate.
