The Chhattisgarh government on Friday disbursed the third installment of unemployment allowance under its ambitious scheme.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched the unemployment allowance scheme for the jobless youths in the state in January this year. Under the scheme, the eligible beneficiary is entitled to get an allowance of Rs 2500 per month.
A state government spokesperson said the Chief Minister on Friday transferred Rs 31.69 crore in the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries as the third installment of the scheme. In all, 116,737 unemployed youths were benefitted, the spokesperson added.
The first instalment of Rs 16.54 crore was transferred in the account of 66,256 beneficiaries on April 30 while the second instalment of Rs 32,35,25,000 was transferred in the account of 1,05,395 eligible beneficiaries last month.
With the release of the third instalment, Chhattisgarh government has disbursed over Rs 80 crore to the unemployed youths in the state under the scheme.
In the programme organised at the residence office of the Chief Minister, Baghel also distributed offer letters for jobs to the youths.
