The Chhattisgarh government on Sunday disbursed the unemployment allowance to the eligible beneficiaries under the ambitious scheme announced by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
The Congress-led government in Chhattisgarh has announced to pay Rs 2500 to the youths who are unemployed in the state. Baghel on Sunday transferred an amount of Rs 16 crore to the bank accounts of 66,256 beneficiaries of the unemployment allowance scheme, in the program organized at the Chief Minister’s residence office on Sunday.
Each of the beneficiaries received an amount of Rs 2500 and they will be provided the allowance every month.
In his virtual address to the beneficiaries, the Chief Minister said that the monthly unemployment allowance would help the youngsters pursue higher education, prepare for competitive exams and undertake skill development training. He said that an action plan has been prepared to provide employment opportunities to the beneficiaries.
Baghel said that the application process for the unemployment allowance was simple and could be submitted online. “In the first month itself, we have transferred more than Rs 16 crores through DBT in the accounts of the beneficiaries. Earlier the eligibility criteria for this allowance were complicated but now the State Government has simplified it,” the Chief Minister said.
People with family income of up to Rs 2.5 lakh are eligible for the scheme. Baghel said that he had distributed the unemployment allowance today but the actual purpose would be served when each of the beneficiaries get employment. “We have chalked out an action plan for 6 months for this purpose, while arrangements are also being made for training and recruitment of the beneficiaries. . There is also a complete arrangement for your training,” he said.
The Chief Minister also interacted with the beneficiaries virtually and noted down their experience besides the benefits of the scheme.
