Raipur, January 12

An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Chhattisgarh cadre created nuisance at the office reportedly in an inebriated condition on Wednesday.

The IAS officer of 2012-batch, Sudhakar Xalxo reached office in drunk condition at around 9.30 am and created a scene in the office. He was posted as Secretary, Chhattisgarh Lok Aayog.

The officer reportedly removed his shirt and sat outside the office, abusing people. By that time, only a few employees had reached the office. The officer was fully out of control and abused the employees who tried to convince him.

Finding no way out, the employees intimated the matter to the family members who intervened. The officer was later sent to his home.

Taking serious note of the incident, the Chhattisgarh government today removed Sudhakar Xalxo from the post of Secretary, Chhattisgarh Lok Aayog. Ironically, the objective for setting up the Lok Aayog organization was to effectively deal with the cases of misconduct, abuse of power and corruption on the part of the public servants so that governance in the state improves.

The IAS officer has been attached in Mantralaya as Joint Secretary without any department.
