Raipur, August 19
Chhattisgarh government has allocated 90 acres of land at acres at a concessional premium rate to encourage the establishment of Information Technology (IT/IITS) industry in Nava Raipur, the upcoming capital of the state.
The decision was taken at the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai chaired the meeting.
A state government spokesperson said the objective of the decision was to attract investment in the IT sector and accelerate industrial development. Availability of land at concessional rates will increase the participation of the private sector and will also create new employment opportunities.
This initiative will not only promote technical and economic activities in Nava Raipur, but will also boost the process of settlement and urbanization here, the spokesperson said. Establishment of IT companies will develop infrastructure in the region, which will also provide direct and indirect benefits to the local residents.
The Council of Ministers also decided that for families belonging to the Antyodaya and Priority categories residing in Scheduled Areas and Mada Pocket regions of the State, the required quantity of 2 kg chickpeas distributed every month under the Public Distribution System (PDS) will be procured by the State Civil Supplies Corporation through the NeML e-auction platform. This procurement will be carried out at a transaction/service charge of 0.25 percent or less, as approved for the financial year 2024–25.
In addition, the Cabinet has directed that beneficiaries who did not receive their quota of chickpeas between July 2025 and November 2025 must be provided the entitled quantity by December 2025.
