Raipur, July 31
Chhattisgarh State Gazetted Officers Association has decided to fully support the “Jhan Kar Inkaar, Hamar Sunav Sarkar” movement under the banner of Chhattisgarh Employees Officers Federation.
State President of Chhattisgarh State Gazetted Officers Association, Kamal Verma and spokesperson Balmukund Tamboli said that all the gazetted officers posted in the Directorate would participate in the torch rally organized from Indravati Bhawan (Directorate) to Mahanadi Bhawan (Ministry) on 6 August 2024 at 2 pm. Verma said that the officers had been suffering financial loss due to government depriving them of the fundamental right of dearness allowance.
All the officers work day and night for the implementation of various government schemes of the state, but the officers are getting discouraged as the government is not providing them DA at par with the central government, Verma added. There is a lot of resentment among the gazetted officers due to this neglectful attitude of the government, he said, adding that many attempts have been made to draw the attention of the government through memorandum to solve the problems of government officers and employees, but even after 6 months, no initiative has been taken by the government.
The employee organizations are now left with no other option than to stage agitation. Therefore, all the gazetted officers of the state will support the four-level movement of the Federation.
Association spokesperson Balmukund Tamboli said that in the first phase, a torch rally would be held from Indravati Bhawan to Mahanadi Bhawan on August 6 while in the second phase, a memorandum would be given to MPs and MLAs from August 20 to 30 and in the third phase, a torch rally will be organized in district/block/tehsils on September 11 and in the fourth phase, a dharna-demonstration will be organized in the districts by taking a mass leave on September 27.
The Gazetted Officers Association will fully support the phased movement of the Federation and will leave no stone unturned to make the movement successful, Tamboli said. He added that BJP had promised in the election manifesto to approve of 50 per cent DA with 4 per cent increase in dearness allowance to the employees of the state from January 1, 2024 like the Centre, adjustment of arrears of dearness allowance of the employees of the state on the due date from July 2019 in the GPF account, four-tier time scale pay scale to the government servants, house rent allowance as at the Centre, issue of giving earned leave encashment of 300 days instead of 240 days to the government servants of the state like the Madhya Pradesh Government etc.
