Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan has conveyed his greetings and good wishes to the people of the country and the state, besides personnel from the army personnel forces, and freedom fighters on the occasion of 77th Independence Day (I-Day).
In his message, Haichandan said on August 15, 2023, India would be completing 77 years of glorious Independence. “The fight for our freedom was long and arduous, and innumerable brave men made their sacrifices,” he said.
“We salute all those great men and their sacrifices. Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, and many other freedom fighters played a prominent role in liberating India from British rule in their own ways. We should not forget the sacrifices of those innumerable fighters,” he added.
The Governor said to maintain the freedom, the brave soldiers of army and police personnel have also lost their lives. Paying tribute to them, the Governor said that the contribution of soldiers could never be forgotten.
He added that the country is celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence to mark the completion of 75 years of India’s independence and to rejoice the glorious history of its people, culture, and achievements. “This festival is our tribute to the innumerable freedom fighters. On this auspicious festival of independence, let us all take a pledge to free the country from disruptive and anti-social elements,” Harichandan said.
The Governor also called upon the young generation to play an active role in strengthening the unity and integrity of the country.
