Chhattisgarh govt effects major IPS reshuffle, transfers 20 officers including 9 SPs

The Chhattisgarh government effected a massive reshuffle in the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre by transferring altogether 20 officers on Sunday.

The transfer list of IPS officers comes a day after the state government transferred 41 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers in a massive bureaucratic reshuffle. The affected officers include two range Inspector Generals of Police (IGP) and nine District Superintendents of Police (SP).

Pawan Deo is the senior most IPS officer to be in the list. The 1992-batch IPS officer has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director of Chhattisgarh Police Housing Corporation. He was till now holding the charge of only Managing Director of the corporation.

The two IGPs affected in the transfer included Ankit Garg (2004 batch) posted in Sarguja and 2007-batch IPS officer Deepak Kumar Jha. The latter succeeds Garg in Sarguja who has been shifted as IGP, SIB, police headquarters.
