After taking over the command of the state in the month of December last year, Dev Sai is continuously working for the expansion of health services and qualitative improvement in the entire state including Jashpur. In the first cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister had instructed the health department officials to make cheap generic medicines available to the patients in all the government hospitals of the state. During the last 8 months of his tenure, work is being done rapidly for the expansion of health services in Jashpur district.
Along with a 220-bed hospital in Kunkuri, 25 additional ambulances and 1 hearse have been provided for the convenience of patients. By giving the status of Primary Health Centre to 7 sub-health centres, necessary human resources have been approved. By posting 19 MBBS doctors and 7 specialist doctors in the district, important steps have been taken towards removing the shortage of doctors.
The state government has approved Rs 2 crore 32 lakh to remove the shortage of machines in hospitals. The amount will be used to start a dialysis centre in Kunkuri as well as purchase necessary equipment for hospitals in Jashpur, Manora, Lodam and Bagicha. The Chief Minister’s intention is to make Jashpur district self-reliant in the healthcare sector so that patients and their relatives do not have to wander for treatment.
