The Chhattisgarh State Health Employees Union called off their strike after a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Health and Family Welfare T S Singh Deo on Sunday.

A delegation of the union held a detailed discussion with Singh Deo at his residential office today in connection with their pending demands. They expressed their willingness to participate in constructive dialogue with the government.

The Deputy CM assured that he would consider the demands of the health workers and put the same before the State Government. Singh Deo had earlier appealed to the health department employees to return to their work in the larger interest of the state’s people.

Following today’s discussions, the office bearers of the Union officially announced to call off their strike and resume their duties. During the meeting with the Deputy Chief Minister, they also expressed their wish to meet Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

A delegation later paid a courtesy call to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at his residence office on Sunday night. They informed the Chief Minister that the strike that started on July 4 by the Union had been called off. The Deputy Chief Minister was also present on the occasion.

A government spokesperson said the Chief Minister assured that the state government would take necessary action after Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain examined the demands presented by the delegation.
