Raipur, January 10

The Bilaspur-based Chhattisgarh High Court today ordered to quash the First Information Report (FIR) registered against state’s former Principal Secretary Aman Singh and his wife for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets.

Aman Singh, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of All India Service, has joined the Chhattisgarh government on deputation. He was Principal Secretary to the then Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Raman Singh.

The Congress party came to power in December 2018. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Chhattisgarh police in February 2020 registered a case against Aman Singh and his wife Yasmin Singh under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and section 120 (B) (conspiracy) of the IPC.

The Single bench of Justice N K Vyas heard the case and reserved the judgment. The court ordered to quash the FIR registered against Aman Singh and Yasmin Singh.

The court observed that the FIR registered was against the established principle of the High Court.
