Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC) has announced a nominal hike in domestic power for the financial year 2022-23.
The power regulator said the domestic consumer had to pay 10 paise more for every unit, which is nearly 3 per cent over the existing rate. As against the existing tariff of Rs 3.60 per unit for the user consuming 0-100 units per month, they would now have to pay Rs 3.70 per unit. Consumers using power in the slab of 401-600 units, and 601 and above would now have to pay Rs 6.30 per unit and Rs 7.90 per unit respectively.
The power regulator has increased the tariff by 15 paise for other category of consumers. The steel industry using high tension supply would now have to pay 5 paise more for every unit of power consumed.
The power subsidy announced by the government for different schemes would however continue.
In the last financial year, the commission had announced an average hike in power tariff by 6.19 per cent for all categories of consumers.
